We just had the World Series, and it was awesome. Please don’t tell the government, please don’t judge me, but I actually was rooting for the team of England.
I was rooting for England, because my favorite soccer player of all time is Harry Kane. And in British English, it’s Harry Kane. I love Harry Kane. He is the striker of all strikers. As I’ve grown in this one-sided bromance with Harry Kane, I have begun to love what he loves, which is the English team. And so today is the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. When we get close to Mary, we get close to God himself. The closer that we get in love to Jesus, the closer that we get in love to Mary and vice versa. So my invitation for all of us today is just like I grew in love for the English team because I loved what Harry Kane loves, you can grow to love Mary by loving Jesus more, and you can grow to love Jesus by loving Mary more.

Easter Sunday
Happy Easter. He is risen. Jesus Christ is victorious over all sin and death, and we never have to be afraid again. Hallelujah. One of our students at the Newman Center created this artwork on our chalkboard, saying, A bunny will never love you like Jesus. And yes, it’s a little cheesy, but it is so true that we cling to so many other things than Jesus to make us happy. Jesus proved his love for us by dying and rising from the…
