Spiritual nostalgia. It is so real. It is wanting to experience your feelings again during that amazing God moment. It’s wanting to experience again that feeling you had when the Cubs won the World Series. In the gospel for the Sunday, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up the mountain and reveals his glory. They feel they experience the realness of Jesus’ divinity, but then they go down the hill, and Jesus seems to have changed. Jesus is not revealing His glory anymore, but the crazy reality is that it’s not Jesus who changes. It’s Peter, James, and John who change. Jesus remains the same, but they can’t see it, and it’s the same with us. As much as we want to return to that fantastic God moment, we don’t have to because Jesus is with us now. He never changes. It’s our emotions. It’s our desires that change. This is Spirit Juice. Peace.

Mother Teresa was the same, simple words, simple life, yet no one ever “won” a debate with her. Because real holiness isn’t something you argue with. It speaks for itself. This week’s reflection unpacks Jesus’ promise: “I will give you wisdom in speaking that your adversaries will be powerless to refute.” When we grow in holiness and ask Jesus for wisdom, the truth carries its own weight. And yes, still probably a bad idea to argue with your grandma.

Blessed Are The Peacemakers
If we aren’t at peace within ourselves, we often end up recruiting others into our inner battles. That’s why Jesus’ words in this Sunday’s Gospel matter so much: “Blessed are the peacemakers.” True peace doesn’t start “out there.” It begins by making peace with ourselves and before that, making peace with Jesus. Only then can we become people who bring peace into the lives of others. Like any true peacemaker, we have to face our fears, reject what pulls us away from God, and let Christ define who we are. That’s where real peace is found and where it can finally begin to spread.
