Today, Holy Saturday is a bittersweet day. It’s bitter because we realize we killed God, but he’s coming. But it is sweet because Jesus reveals the lengths he will go for us. He’s willing to go even to death for us. He’s willing to go even to hell for us. Nothing can destroy that no place in the universe is out of reach for Jesus, that there is no sin that is out of reach for Jesus, that there is no place in your heart that is out of reach for the king of kings. Take my hand. So today, as we prepare for Easter, let this day be bittersweet, and let this day remind us there is nothing out of reach for Jesus. This is Spirit Juice. Peace.

The Woman At The Well

In this Sunday’s Gospel, the woman at the well has a different encounter. When she meets Jesus, she leaves her water jar behind. In His presence, the thing she once clung to suddenly doesn’t matter anymore.
That’s what happens when we stay close to Jesus. The things we hold onto so tightly begin to lose their grip, and we discover that He alone is enough.

Even though you may look fine on the outside, it’s a silent killer. This weekend, we’re celebrating All Souls’ Day, where if we don’t take care of our souls, that’s like…

The Imprint on Your Hearts
Let’s talk about money. In ancient Rome, Caesar’s face was imprinted on coins so that people would know who the emperor was. In this Sunday’s gospel, Jesus asks the Pharisees to take out a coin and tells them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and give to God what is God’s.” Jesus is telling the Pharisees to give him his coins, be good citizens, pay their taxes, and not jaywalk. But everyone…
