Okay, guys, this is it. It is happening. Lent 2024. It is finally here, and this will be the best lent ever for us. Jesus says in the gospel today, “Repent and believe in the gospel.” We are called to believe the gospel. CS Lewis, an absolute spiritual savage, said, “You should never believe anything unless you think it’s true.” And so the amazing reality is that Jesus Christ is faithful, that the Catholic church is true, that your life has meaning, and it is so true.
When we say yes to the Lord, our hearts are unlocked. Repenting and believing in the gospel is the greatest thing we can ever do. Our faith is the greatest love story that the world has ever known, and you will not be the same. So, for this Lent, let’s say yes to the Lord. Let’s get after it. Blessed Lent 2024 to all of you. This is Spirit Juice. Peace.

Who Jesus Is
Who’s the most powerful person to ever come out of Kansas? Clark Kent, aka Superman. And the reason he’s Superman isn’t just where he came from, but who formed him. In this Sunday’s Gospel, the mystery of the Virgin Birth helps us understand something even greater: this is who Jesus is. Fully God and fully human. His divinity comes from the Father in heaven, and His humanity comes through Mary, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is shaped by the Father, formed by Mary and Joseph, and sent for us. As Christmas approaches, we’re invited to pause and reflect on the beauty of who He truly is God with us.

Keys to the Kingdom
We live in a culture of life hacks. We can make anything more effortless and more efficient. There are life hacks for finding flights online, cooking eggs, and dating relationships. And when it comes to your dating relationship, please do not use any hacks. We can make things so easy and comfortable. Do we need the Lord? There will be a moment in our lives…
Bible study mode activate. The first reading for this Sunday from Isaiah is fire. God is speaking to the people of Israel, saying, “I will place the keys of the House of David on the shoulder of Eliakim. When he shuts it, no one will open it. And when he opens, no one shall shut. When the king is away, Eliakim, you are in charge.” We see this again in the Gospel. Jesus says…

The Lord Keeps Us Safe
So, have you ever seen those videos of police dogs that attack the guy wearing the crazy, weird-looking suit? Sometimes I feel like that’s my life. There are many times when I feel attacked, and I feel like I’m out of control, and I don’t feel safe. In the gospel for this Sunday, the apostles experienced the same thing. The storm is attacking them, and they are not safe. But what does Jesus do…
