Let’s talk about Thanos. Thanos is not a good guy. He basically destroys half of the universe. He has so many opportunities to change his heart, but his heart is so hardened that he is not able to. And that’s the downfall of Thanos, that his heart is so hardened that he can’t have a conversion. In the gospel for this Sunday, Jesus speaks and tells the parable about the man whose heart is completely hardened. Abraham says they would not be persuaded, even if someone was to rise from the dead. There are people in this world, whose hearts are so hardened, that they say no to the resurrection, that they say no to Jesus, that they say no to the most Holy Eucharist.
My invitation is to ask the Lord to begin to soften the parts of our hearts that are most hardened. When our hearts are malleable, we become like Jesus. Reject the Thanos from your life and embrace the Captain America, or choose your own superhero now.

Three-word Confession
At the end of our lives, there are only three words that really matter, and no, it’s not “Go Cubs Go.” St. Paul gives us the true final confession: “Jesus is Lord.” As we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of the Church year, we’re invited to remember what everything ultimately leads to: the simple, powerful truth that Jesus is God. If we hold onto anything at the end, let it be that.

God Stays
So, two couples I’m preparing for marriage chose this Sunday’s Gospel for their wedding. So, I asked both couples the same question: “Why did you choose this reading?” Couple number one responded, “Yeah, we chose this gospel because it was the shortest option.” And I was like, “Bruh.” The second couple replied, “We chose this gospel because God wants to remain with us…
