One of my really good friends from college just got engaged, and she’s just filled with joy. But the crazy thing is literally moments after she was engaged, the whole world who knows her knew that she was engaged because she couldn’t help but share the love that she found with her fiancé. That is exactly what happens in the Gospel today with the parable of the Good Samaritan. That all the disciples realize the Samaritan can love and recognizes that in Jesus. And so Jesus says right at the end of the Gospel for this Sunday, “Go and do likewise.”
Do we realize Jesus’ love for us? Do we realize the mercy and the incredible love that He asked for us? Or, is there something that needs to change in our hearts where we actually believe that? Because if we do, if we believe that Jesus Christ is victorious, then we cannot help but go out and share it with the world. That’s my desire for all of us, and that is what can change the world.

Holy Saturday 2024
This is a little dated, but the “Bourne” trilogy. Jason Bourne, an ex-assassin, runs away and hides from the government. He does everything in his power, training, and skill to hide from the government, and he succeeds. When it comes to being a Christian, we will never succeed at hiding from Jesus. Today, Holy Saturday, what does Jesus do? Before the…
