You may have noticed before on a street corner, on a college campus, or at a sports game, someone holding up a big sign that says, “John 3:16.” Well, that’s our gospel for this Sunday. We all know this gospel. “For God’s so loved the world that he gave his only son.” This is the ultimate mic drop that the entirety of the gospels is rolled up into this one passage. There will come a moment in our lives when we realize, I keep failing, I keep falling short, I can’t do it on my own anymore.
And so the reality is you have a savior; you can be lifted. The beauty of the gospel this Sunday shouts to our hearts, saying, “You don’t have to do it on your own. You have a savior.” The people on the street corners holding up those signs might not be normal, but it is true.

Christmas Is Cancel Proof!

And because she had had a rough year, she decided to cancel Christmas. And the inner Buddy, the elf in me, freaked out. You can’t cancel Christmas. How can you do that? The reality is that the incarnation cannot be canceled. Christmas is cancel-proof because…
