Did Jesus tell us to cheat the system? Did he instruct us to falsify our tax returns? Did he give us financial advice like the mafia would? In the gospel for this Sunday. Jesus, of course, is not advocating fraud. But what Jesus is saying is that this dishonest steward was hustling, striving, putting in all this effort to make all this money. And the question is, are we hustling when it comes to Heaven? It’s easy to hustle when it comes to money, our health, and all the life hacks we can get. Are we doing the same thing? Are we trying to be as accurate as possible to get to Heaven? Well, let’s hope not. Great news, the church has given us every single possible life hack to be with Jesus forever. The church has given us the Eucharist, the holy mass, and the word of God. Are we hustling for Heaven? Wealth? It’s going to fade. Jesus, Heaven will never fade.

Divine Mercy

And when I say the “Vatican,” I mean “me.” The Divine Mercy Sunday is an incredible Sunday where we witness Jesus pursuing us. We look at the image of Divine Mercy and see that Jesus is not standing still. He has one foot forward, walking towards us, running after us, pursuing us. This is the Divine Mercy…

Mercy That Moves First
What if mercy isn’t passive, but moving toward you?
In the Divine Mercy image, Jesus isn’t just standing still, He’s stepping forward, coming toward us. His mercy is active, not distant. Even when we turn away, even when we sin, He doesn’t wait for us to make the first move, He comes after us.
That’s the heart of who Jesus is. A love that pursues, a mercy that moves, and a Savior who never stops coming toward you.

Guard Your Time Well
So in the gospel today, a sower goes out to sow, and the sower throws seed down on the thorny ground, and the thorns choke the seeds so the seeds do not flourish. We are often thrown onto the thorny ground, and busyness is one of the big things that really chokes us. Busyness in our lives chokes our relationship with Jesus, and we do not…
