Imagine if Luke Skywalker never left Tatooine, or imagine if Frodo never left The Shire, or imagine if Eleven never left Mike Wheeler’s basement and just stayed there. All of these heroes were meant for something. They had a purpose, and they lived it out. And we are called to do the same thing.
In the gospel for this Sunday, Jesus pities the people because they are like sheep without a shepherd, and they have forgotten their purpose. When we live on purpose and let Jesus lead us in our purpose, that fulfills us. That is what fulfills the deepest desires of our hearts. And so you have a purpose. You are called to be a saint and to allow Jesus to lead you there. No matter how boring your life may be right now, no matter how frustrating your life may be right now, you have a purpose because you are called to be a saint. This is Spirit Juice. Peace.

This Is Our Battle Cry
This Sunday’s gospel is a battle cry that we are called to go into battle. Jesus says, “You are the salt of the earth.” In the ancient world, when a city was conquered, the soldiers would lay out salt everywhere, on the ground, in the streets, to destroy anything growing there. It sounds weird, but we are called as Christians to eliminate…

No Side Hustles in Our Faith
Ride-sharing. Food delivery. Pet sitting. Side hustles are everywhere and there’s nothing wrong with that. But when it comes to faith, eternal life, and the meaning of life itself, there are no side hustles. In one of His most famous teachings, Jesus says He has not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. He is the fulfillment. He is the way to heaven. He is the meaning of life. Chase your goals and work hard but when it comes to what truly matters, there’s only one answer. It’s always been Jesus.
