Series on “Prepare Your Heart” by Fr. Agustino Torres, CFR. (Part 3)
What’s the best thing you learned from St. Joseph? Advent teaches us that God has a different way of doing things, and St. Joseph is a fantastic example and witness. Throughout his life, St. Joseph should’ve had the opportunity to grasp human comfort or control, but instead, he chose to enter into humility, into silence; he didn’t overthink, he didn’t overtalk, but rather, he trusted and was obedient to God while being completely attentive to Mary and Jesus. This Advent, just like St. Joseph, we are invited to be radically open to what God wants us to do. Advent is not about evaluating everything but being with the most important ones and anchoring ourselves to God like St. Joseph did.
This is the third part of this year’s Advent series, where we continue to look into the lives of different saints of Advent, and for this episode, we’re talking about the heart and experience of St. Joseph.

Surrender the Stench
“Have I told Jesus all of my story?” That’s the question that we are going to unpack in this episode. Most of us have confessed and have sought healing in particular places of our lives, but there are still parts of who we are now that we keep in the dark—the stench. The reality of that stench is that it is discouraging and despairing, but Jesus comes, and He’s…

The Blessed Mother
Have you ever struggled to believe that God could really work through your weakness? In this episode, the friars turn their gaze to the Blessed Mother and the quiet, radical way she lived the Beatitudes. They reflect on Mary’s poverty of spirit, her meekness, and her total availability to God, not as something distant or unattainable, but as a lived posture of trust, openness, and surrender. They explore how Mary’s emptiness became the space where God did His greatest work, how her confidence came from knowing who she was before the Father, and how her motherhood continues to draw close to us in our own poverty and need. Join us as we entrust ourselves again to our Mother and learn how her “yes” teaches us how to receive God more fully in our own lives.

Intimacy with the Bridegroom
The world is a crazy place. There’s always the temptation to hide, run away or to fear Love. There are distractions and lies—the lie that we cannot do it, that we may lose ourselves, that our love won’t be reciprocated. But we are made to be in love. First and foremost with the Lord, Jesus the bridegroom, who comes to save, to love, and to die for us, His bride. And from this love we are called to lay down our lives and give ourselves fully for a bride or bridegroom.
