Matthew 20:28 says, “Even as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.” You heard what Jesus said. Jesus was not sitting in the palace waiting for people to come. He went out and reached out to the people. He was healing the sick and feeding the hungry. You heard the lame walk, the blind see, and if you want to be a follower of Jesus, you have to do the same. He said, “I have not come to be served, but to serve.” The leaders of these days, sometimes, you wants to be served. You are in the big mansion. Even the Pope has said it. “Go and be messy because the world is messy.” Following Christ requires that you follow His footsteps and His footsteps He has shown to us. So, serve as He has served.

Love for the Dead
This is how Catholics show their love for the dead. Some argue, why do we pray for the dead? But Maccabees have given us the insight. But if he was looking to the splendid reward that is laid up for those who fall asleep in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Therefore…

Yearning For God
Listen. I haven’t tried to die, so I can’t explain what I don’t know. But this is what I’m trying to say: there is a struggle in that moment of death. All hope is almost lost. And suddenly, it is clear that this person is about to die. Saint Augustine said, “We yearn for the Lord.” That yearning for God may come fully to you. At that moment, you have no more hope of anything other than the God who made you, who you are…
