People take photographs of their loved ones. If you take a picture of your beloved one and kiss it, is it that person you’re kissing? Because as you do that, you remember the sentiments of the person you are looking at. And the Catholics, when they have these statues, these statues are people who you remember with joy. People who you know have lived a Christian life. So that’s why you have all these statues of different sins, including our Mother Mary, including even the statue of divine mercy of our Lord, Jesus Christ. But the Catholics know that these are only images reminding you of the person you are looking at. These people who are being venerated, who we have their images of, have lived a good life. And you pray, asking these saints to intercede for you.

Finding God in Everything
Psalm 148, verse eight, says, “Fire and hail, snow and frost, stormy wind fulfilling his command.” I woke up this morning, and snow filled our whole compound. And I started to ponder: God is great. How did this all come about? You look up and don’t even see where it comes from, but somebody behind it has made it possible. What a mystery. This is not the first time I’ve seen snow…

Love for the Dead
This is how Catholics show their love for the dead. Some argue, why do we pray for the dead? But Maccabees have given us the insight. The Bible says. “For if he were not expecting that those who had fallen will rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead. But if he was looking to the splendid reward that is laid up for those who fall asleep in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Therefore…
