Gospel of St. Luke, chapter 16, verse 25. But Abraham said, “Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things and Lazarus in like manner evil things. But now he’s comforted here and you are in anguish.” Lazarus was not even allowed to eat the crumbs from the rich man’s table. The rich man and his people didn’t care. But this story calls us to be compassionate, to care for one another, to care for others. Help them. There are many people who are hungry in our world. If the Lord has gifted you, give to others. So it is important that we look around and help the needy. I don’t want any of us to suffer what the rich man suffered. So, start now to do good. If the master has gifted you, give to others.
