23andMe has nothing on the Catholic Church. They got nothing. They have nothing on this Pentecost Sunday; Jesus Christ reminds us that we, as a church, have a genealogy that goes back to Jesus Christ. As human beings, we have a deep desire to be safe and taken care of, and it is through Jesus Christ and His church that we find this safety. All we have to do is look at Pope Leo the 14th. We look at everyone who came before him, all the way to St. Peter, our first Pope, all the way to Jesus Christ. This is the most fantastic news ever: that we, as Catholics, will be safe until the end of time. The most fantastic news is that we have an unbroken chain of apostolic succession that will continue until the end of time.

Easter Sunday

One of our students at the Newman Center created this artwork on our chalkboard, saying, A bunny will never love you like Jesus. And yes, it’s a little cheesy, but it is so true that we cling to so many other things than Jesus to make us happy. Jesus proved his love for us by dying and rising from the…

Cure For Perfectionism

Leslie has built up the whole town of Pawnee, Indiana by herself. Because she is a perfectionist, Leslie has one huge flaw. Whenever she fails, whenever she…

Sacrifice For Jesus
Okay, so in the gospel for this Sunday, Jesus is not trying to be an economist. He’s not concerned about what happens to the S&P 500. He is not worried about how much Bitcoin to give to the poor. Jesus is talking about our sacrificial hearts. In the gospel, the rich provide some of their money, and the poor widow gives all she has. Jesus is not concerned with numbers. He’s concerned with our…
