Christmas is getting close, and I want to give you the gift of having your mind blown and your face melted. In the Old Testament, King David travels to the Hill Country of Judah for three months. Mary travels for three months in our gospel for this Sunday to the Hill Country of Judah. King David dances before the Lord in the Ark.
The baby, John the Baptist, leaps into Elizabeth’s womb in the presence of God. King David asks, “How is it possible that the Ark of the Lord should come to me?” Elizabeth tells Mary and the baby Jesus in her womb, “How is it possible that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” Guys, this is the amazing thing about our faith: we can’t have the Old Testament without the New Testament, and the New Testament wouldn’t make sense without the Old Testament. And so, as we prepare for this Christmas, know that our faith is real, living, and true. This is Spirit Juice. Peace.

Uncomfortable for Jesus
So Jesus sounds like Yoda for this Sunday’s gospel. He says the foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the son of man has nowhere to lay His head. It sounds cryptic. What Jesus is not saying has anything to do with Airbnb accommodations, but the part of Jesus’ heart that he is sharing with us is that when it comes to following him, sometimes we have to be uncomfortable. I’m very awkward. I have no power…
