I am awful at chess. Like, bad. But the other thing is I try to protect all of the chess pieces on the board, which means I don’t honestly try to protect my king. This is the only thing that you need to win the game. And if you don’t have the king, you lose. Jesus Christ is trying to get this across in the gospel today. You have everything if you have Jesus and nothing else in your life. But if you don’t have Jesus, if you don’t have the king, and you are filled to the brim with worldly things, you have nothing. Protect the king. Jesus reminds us that we must protect the king no matter what is on our chessboard. And so that is my invitation for us this Sunday. No matter what you feel you may be lacking, if you have Jesus, you have everything. Don’t be like me, and protect your king. This is Spirit juice. Peace.

Love Jesus First and Foremost
So a hundred years from now, what will you be known for if ChatGBT has not taken over the world? Will they remember something that you did? Or will they remember a personality trait? What will you be known for? In the Gospel today, Jesus clearly states that He wants us to love Him first and then love everyone and everything after Him. When we put Jesus…

Professor Trelawney is a prophet, but the thing with Professor Trelawney is that she barely ever gets anything right. But who is someone who predicts the…
