I am about to wash the feet of 12 of my students because it is holy Thursday. Jesus, on this day, gives us the priesthood. He gives us the Eucharist and reminds us that he lowers himself. For us, this is so radical that we are called as Christians to lower ourselves. This is the secret of the saints. They always said I’m the worst of us. I am the greatest sinner of all of us. They realized that they needed Jesus, and they wanted to lower themselves to serve to be a slave of Christ truly. That is the secret. If you can do it, I think you can do it. So, this holy Thursday is a great reminder for all of us: true greatness and holiness. It doesn’t shout. It doesn’t boast. True holiness. True greatness serves. Have a blessed, holy Thursday. Stay close to the Eucharist. This is Spirit Juice. Peace.

Resume As A Christian
If you had a resume for being a Christian, what would be on it? In the second reading for this Sunday, Saint Paul lists out his resume, and it’s not what you think. Saint Paul doesn’t boast of his successes and awesomeness. He boasts of his weaknesses. His weaknesses are what makes him strong, offering his vulnerability to Jesus. For Saint Paul, he has a huge list for his resume. He has…

The Best Institution
St. John Paul II once said that the greatest institution that has ever existed and ever will exist is the family. Greater than any corporation, league, or system we can imagine. On the Feast of the Holy Family, we’re reminded that Jesus, Mary, and Joseph placed their family life entirely in God’s hands and that trust led them into the greatest adventure of all. Their home wasn’t perfect or easy, but it was rooted in surrender. No matter how messy, broken, or complicated our own families may feel, we’re called to do the same. If we want to change the world, it has to begin with healing and holiness, in our families.

No Greater Love (Palm Sunday)
On Palm Sunday, crowds entered Jerusalem bringing lambs for sacrifice, it was messy, costly, and deeply personal. In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus enters through those same gates, not just alongside the lambs, but as the Lamb. He takes on what we could never carry, offering Himself completely out of love for us.
That’s the heart of Palm Sunday. The sacrifice is no longer ours to make, Jesus gives Himself for us. The invitation is simple: take it personally, receive that love, and say yes to Him.
