Okay, so this is a very solemn day, this is a very somber day. It’s Good Friday. If you have the opportunity to go to your Good Friday service at your parish, the first thing that you will see is the priest lying prostrate on the ground. It’s a sign of reverence, it’s a sign of adoration, but it’s also a sign of vulnerability. On Good Friday, Jesus becomes vulnerable for us. He opens himself up to suffering. He opens himself up to pain, rejection, and to death. He does this all for you and all out of love. When we are vulnerable, it reveals our love. It reveals what we’re willing to do to love. So my invitation is that today is the day if you have never been vulnerable with Jesus. Open up your heart, and become vulnerable with him. Share all of your sufferings, your hurts, and the things that have been weighing you down so that he can begin to transform those things just as he transformed the cross. But guess what?
Good Friday is not the end.

Get Up and Share The Gospel
My dad mastered the art of getting me out of bed when I was a kid. If I were sleeping in, my dad would rush into my room, jump onto the bed, tackle me, and say that it was time to get up. And the crazy thing is I never felt attacked. I felt safe and loved, and then I felt encouraged to get up. Jesus does something very, very similar in the gospel for this Sunday. He’s calling the disciples to get up, to get out, and to…

Neville Longbottom and King David

But if you read the whole series, you realize within the heart of Neville is a pure heart that is courageous and full of self-sacrificial…
