One time, I was exciting a bunch of second graders in their classroom, getting them ready for their first Holy Communion. And so I asked them, boys and girls, what are you most excited about about receiving your first Holy Communion? So, one kid raised his hand high in the air, and I called on him. He said, ‘We get to eat God.’ Exactly. It sounds a little crazy and a little radical, but this kid canonizes him right now. Make him a doctor of the church. This is the great gift of the Eucharist that we have as Catholics, and we celebrate it today in the Feast of Corpus Christi. There is nothing more intimate in this world than receiving Holy Communion. The Eucharist is the greatest gift that we have received. And so today, at Mass, receive the Lord with your whole heart, with your entire being. Have an incredible Corpus Christi.

Something That Lasts

What is so crazy is that St. Thomas Aquinas lived during the time of this Eucharistic Miracle. St. Thomas Aquinas fell so deeply in love with Jesus and the Eucharist that he wrote “The Tantum Ergo.” “The Tantum Ergo” is sung every day around the world…

Greatest Christmas Present
On Christmas Day, the math is surprisingly simple: the person who has God has everything, the person who doesn’t have God has nothing, and the person who has God plus everything else is no greater than the one who has God alone. That’s the heart of Christmas. God doesn’t just give us something. He gives us Himself. Jesus is the greatest gift ever offered, fully given and fully available to us. This Christmas, we’re invited to receive the gift that truly satisfies: God with us.

The Transfiguration
In “Thor: Ragnarok,” Bruce Banner and the Hulk, they are fighting against each other. They’re the same person, but they need to be integrated better. But then you see in the movie, “Endgame,” Bruce Banner and the Hulk are truly one. They are no longer fighting against each other. They are integrated well. Bruce Banner is the Hulk, and the Hulk is…
