So, two couples I’m preparing for marriage chose this Sunday’s Gospel for their wedding. So, I asked both couples the same question: “Why did you choose this reading?” Couple number one responded, “Yeah, we chose this gospel because it was the shortest option.” And I was like, “Bruh.” The second couple replied, “We chose this gospel because God wants to remain with us, and we want to remain with each other. We want to stay with each other forever.”
This is the incredible news that God wants to remain in all of our hearts; he wants to abide forever. We never have to fear abandonment. This gives me goosebumps every time I think about it. So, my invitation for this Sunday, the way that God wants to remain with you forever, is this: Can we respond with the desire never to abandon God, never to run away from God, to stay with Him, to abide with Him? How crazy is that? God stays. This is Spirit Juice, peace.

Do Not Mock God
So, Christianity 101. Never ridicule or mock or laugh at God because God is always right. In the gospel for this Sunday, people ridicule, mock, and laugh at Jesus for what he says. And in the end, Jesus is correct. The little girl rises, and she is alive. A lot of the time, we do not understand God’s ways. But God promised He is the way, the truth, and the life. And we can rely on Him even if we do…

Jesus Stays The Same
So, the latest Terminator movie was set for the future in 2024. It was predicted that by 2024, artificial intelligence would take over the world. Well, we are now past 2024. It is a new year, and AI hasn’t conquered us yet. But we always fear that we have no clue what will happen in this new year. Crazy things may happen, heartbreaking things may happen, amazing things may happen, but guess what? Jesus stays…

Jesus’ Second Coming
Okay, so it is time to build those fallout shelters. It is time to build those panic rooms. It is time to hoard that toilet paper because the world’s end is coming. In all of the readings, this is what Jesus is talking about. He’s talking about the world’s end for Jesus’s second coming. And the fantastic thing is we don’t have to be afraid. Jesus first came in humility, poverty, and weakness, coming in a manger…
