So we just got back from Italian. Everywhere we went, Christians were killed in those places. Those Christians who were killed. All the thousands and thousands of Christians who were martyred for the faith chose to love all those who caused them suffering. They decided to love until the end. In this Sunday’s gospel, Jesus commands very clearly. This is how you are to love that. Love demands something from us, even when we do not want to. It is so easy to love. When it is easy to love, it is so easy to love our family, significant other, and spouse. It is so difficult to love when it is difficult to love. That’s why today, my invitation to all of us is to ask who the people in our lives are that we need to choose to love. That is what it means to be Christian. So go out and choose to love someone today.

Anything Good Leads to Jesus
In the 1600s in Europe, European Christians saw coffee coming from the Middle East and immediately labeled coffee as “the devil’s drink.” But the Pope at the time, Pope Clement VII, wanted to try this drink, so a barista made him a delicious cup of coffee, and the Pope said, “This devil’s drink is delicious. Let’s baptize it and make it our own.” And the rest is history. Europe is known for…

Shining Light in the Dark
So why does Batman only come out at night? Because that’s when the criminals come out. You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it. Criminals prefer working in the darkness rather than the light. And so in the gospel for this Sunday, Jesus says, “The light came into the world, “but people prefer darkness to the light.” The reality is that we are all criminals. We love to keep…

Unoffendable
A Google review was left for me on my old parish’s website, and the Google Review said I avoid his masses. I should have been up in arms by it, trying to defend myself, but I was just sad, but I wasn’t offended. In the first reading for this Sunday, the apostles are called to go out and proclaim the good news to the world, and if they are rejected or persecuted, they shake the dust from their feet, not becoming…
