How can we live and create a space for contemplation, for silence, to be able to hear the voice of God in our lives? God is always there. He’s always giving himself to us and always longing to speak to us, but living in the constant influx of noise and immediate gratification profoundly affects our contemplative experience—our ability to sit in prayer for long periods to wait and sit for God. That is why it’s so important to retrain our hearts and our minds to receive Him. This episode talks about strengthening the will and creating a lifestyle that supports and enhances the will to grow in discipline, freedom, and our ability to make a free and total Yes to the Lord and his invitation.

Resurrection and the Reproaches (Lent 2024)
Our expectations and what God is doing can be totally different, so how should we respond to that? In the raising of Lazarus, the response of the Pharisees was to have Jesus killed. This was the tragic response of the heart when they were not open and unable to receive the mysterious and unconditional love of God. We can sometimes share the same humanity as the Pharisees too. We sometimes prefer to have Jesus out of our lives…

From Son to Orphan (Lent 2026)
How does a beloved son end up living like an orphan?
As Lent begins, the friars enter deeply into the parable of the Prodigal Son, not starting with the return, but with the rupture. What happens in a heart that makes someone walk away from home? What wounds, doubts, shame, or disappointments lead us to take our inheritance and try to live without the Father?
In this episode, they reflect on the subtle shift that happens long before the son leaves: the movement from trust to self-reliance, from intimacy to isolation, from sonship to an orphan spirit. They explore how sin and shame distort our vision of God’s goodness, and how easy it is to believe we’re better off on our own.
This conversation isn’t about condemnation, it’s about awareness. Because before we become “prodigal,” we often become wounded.
Join us as we begin Lent by asking the Lord to reveal where we’ve chosen distance and to restore us to the truth of being sons and daughters again.
